Hayat Kimya, the manufacturer of brands such as Evony, Molfix, Molped, Bingo, and Papia in the categories of home care, hygiene, cleaning papers, masks and diapers, and Kastamonu Entegre, which is in the wood-based panel sector, are subsidiaries of Hayat Holding in Turkey, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. It has been announced that a total of 1.1 billion dollars will be invested in these countries. Stated that they never stopped investing despite the pandemic, Hayat Holding Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer M.Avni Kiğılı said, “Despite all restrictions, closures and travel difficulties, we have completed our first $400 million investment since the first quarter of 2020 Also, we pressed the button for an investment of 700 million dollars. We will continue our investments at full throttle.”
Expressing that 50 percent of the new investments will be domestically and 50 percent abroad and 40-45% of the new investments will be realized with equity capital, Kiğılı shared the following information: “Under the Hayat Kimya, a new tissue paper production facility has established in Mersin and Samsun with Kastamonu Entegre. We are establishing a new hygiene paper production facility in Mersin under the Hayat Kimya, a particle board facility in Samsun under the Kastamonu Entegre and MDF facilities in Balıkesir. Last year, we established a surgical mask factory to respond to the urgent need in our country due to Covid-19. When we look abroad, we will establish non-woven facilities in Egypt, paper facilities in Algeria and Russia, and particle board facilities in Russia.” Kiğılı said that they headed to Southeast Asia after Turkey, the Middle East and Africa and stated that they chose Vietnam as their production base and they opened a diaper factory with an investment of 100 million dollars. Kiğılı said that with this facility, they will expand their field of activity in 10 countries in the region.
Stating that there are more than 17 thousand employees within the holding, Kiğılı said, "We have created more than 2 thousand additional employment since the beginning of the pandemic, and we will provide employment opportunities for 1600 more people with our new investments." Stating that they achieved a turnover of 3 billion dollars last year, Kiğılı said, “We did not lose in dollar terms, we were able to maintain the situation. As we set the 2021 targets high, we may fall behind a little bit," he said.
Referring to the increase in commodity prices, Avni Kiğılı said, “There is a great swelling in commodity prices, there has been a double increase in some products. The rate of imported products is 50 percent in Hayat Kimya and 30 percent in Kastamonu Entegre. These increases in the costs are reflected in the prices. Since the purchasing power of consumers has decreased, we are also working on efficiency in this period and we are sacrificing our profits. However, there is an increase in price." he said. Kiğılı stated that they will announce their new logo, which defines the vision of globalization, with a digital launch with the participation of 22 thousand people today.
